So sorry to hear of Don's passing. I always enjoyed spending time at the Boyd home as a child and am so glad that we were able to visit some throughout the years. Loved the pictures in the video and seeing Don and family and friends as I remember them from years ago. He was definitely an authentic Oklahoma cowboy. He will be missed.
Much love and prayers,
Brook Prater Scott

I was saddened to learn of Don’s passing. Growing up we were very good friends even though he was one year ahead of me in high school at Haworth. We each built a fishing boat in shop class at Haworth, probably in 1958 before Don graduated. I often reminisce about taking the two boats up to the Eagletown bridge on the Mountain Fork River and drifting down to Cow Crossing----me and my Dad, Ernest Martin, in my boat and Lester “Bear” Boyd and Don in his boat (could have been Bobby Boyd). It was in late spring or early summer and the river was up. Hidden Cypress knees below the surface caused our boats to capsize, or nearly so, several time---we had quite the adventure.
We also shared an interest in FFA in high school. In years gone by I recall visiting Don at the Mendenhall lumber yard in Idabel where was the same friendly Don I went to high school with. Don was a good friend and an outstanding citizen. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

I’ve always thought the world of Don. He was a great man, never did I see any wrong. Believe me, as a child growing up, he and my dad was together building dreams, adventures on every turn, and childhood like no other, for us to enjoy, and so much love and zeal. He was always mild mannered, friendly, with a smile that accompanied ist, a helping hand, always there. God bless be with his loved ones and friends. Place your living arms around them and give them peace during this difficult time. All things we ask in your holy name.
I love you all.
Teresa
