Obituary of Joe Freeman Battiest

Joe Freeman Battiest, Jr, age 52 passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Idabel, OK. He was born in Talihina, OK on October 23, 1964, the son of Joe Freeman Battiest, Sr. and Delores James Battiest. Joe enjoyed fishing and going to the casino. He loved spending time with his granddaughter, especially taking her to the library; Most recently, Joe worked at the Idabel Nutrition Center and the Idabel Stockyards. He was a member of the Kulli Chito Church in Broken Bow, OK and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. He was preceded in death by his parents. Joe is survived by his daughter, Jo Ann Battiest of Idabel, OK; granddaughter, Cheyenne Cherry of Idabel, OK; brothers, Jimmy Battiest of Ashdown, AR and Terry Battiest of Talihina, OK; sisters, Diane James of Broken Bow, OK, Karen Neal of McAlester, OK, Valerie Hammond of Lake Charles, LA, Christie Espinoza of Broken Bow, OK; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
