Obituary of Robert Steele

Robert Dale "Butch" Steele, age 74 passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at his home in Idabel, OK. He was born on February 7, 1943 in Idabel, OK, the son of “Son” and Ethel Webster Steele. Butch was a 1961 graduate of Idabel Gray High School. Butch worked in Heavy Construction Management for over 40 years. He worked all over the country and world, moving back to Idabel in 2003. Butch was a veteran of both the US Army and US Air Force. An avid animal lover, he cherished his many pets. Butch's biggest joy was work and his daughter Lori, and after that hanging out with family and friends. Many of his friends and family marveled at how he was never afraid to go to any job, anytime, anywhere. Work was always an adventure to him --- and he took it very seriously. He always said “Go to work, do your job, and be a good hand. There will always be time to have fun and party after that.” He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kevin Monroe; brothers, Earnest Wright Jr. and Charles Wright; and a sister, Beulah Fay Tapley. Butch is survived by his wife, Robyn Steele of the home; daughter, Lori Mayes and Chris of Little Rock, AR; sons, Zak Graff and Katrina Mosher of Long Beach, CA and Logan Graff and Lindsay of Prosper, TX; grandchildren, Bradley Monroe, Andrew Mayes, Haley Mayes, Braden Mayes, Cole Graff and Cate Graff; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
