Obituary of Roger Taft Wake

Roger Taft "Bud" Wake, age 76 passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at his home in the Forest Grove Community, OK. Bud was born in Bakersfield, CA on March 17, 1941, the son of Taft and Marie Holman Wake. He was a 1961 graduate of Idabel Gray High School. Bud married Jane Barrett in Idabel, OK on July 29, 1968. Bud managed Mendenhall Lumber for 27 years. He also pipelined and drove a truck. He was a 32nd degree mason and was a member of the Idabel Lodge. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them in rodeo and livestock shows. Bud enjoyed hunting and was an avid sports fan, the OU Sooners being his favorite team. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a lifetime resident of the area. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Bill Wake. Bud is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jane Wake of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Leslie Jenkins of the Forest Grove Community, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Vanessa Wake of the Forest Grove Community, OK; grandchildren, Bryar Jenkins, Cutter Wake and Sody Wake; brother and sister-in-law, Virgil and Margie Wake of Idabel, OK; sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl K and Dwight "Bronc" Martin of Idabel, OK; sister-in-law, Sherry Wake of Alabama; nephews and nieces, Dustin Wake, Todd Martin, Jamie Breshears and Raelynn Wake; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
