Obituary of Larry Ray Holley DDS

Larry Ray Holley, DDS, MSD, age 77, of Allen, Texas, formerly of Garland, Texas, passed away on August 12, 2017. He was born July 21, 1940 in Stigler, Oklahoma to John D. and Doris L. (Garland) Holley. On June 26, 1966 Larry married Lorna Yates at Hill AFB in Ogden, Utah. He graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma and Baylor Dental School in Dallas, Texas. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a Pediatric Dentist in Garland, Texas for many years. Larry was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Garland, but was currently attending First United Methodist Church in Allen, Texas. He was a member of Garland Planning and Zoning, Garland City Council, Mayor Pro Tem in Garland and was on the Allen Parks and Recreation Board. He is survived by his wife, Lorna Holley of Allen, Texas; son, Austin Holley and wife Christina of Millersville, Maryland; daughter, Robyn Holley of Berkeley, California; grandson, Liam Holley; mother Doris Holley of Idabel, Oklahoma; daughter, Vonda Butler and her children; many other loving relatives and friends. Larry is preceded in death by his father, John D. Holley and sister, Judy Karpowich. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, August 18, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, 601 S. Greenville Avenue, Allen, Texas 75002, with a reception to follow at TwoRows Classic Grill, 711 Central Expressway S., Allen, Texas 75013. Family and friends are invited to Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway N., Allen, Texas 75013, at their convenience on Thursday, August 17, 2017 to pay their respects and to sign the register book. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Denison Cemetery in Idabel, Oklahoma, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 am prior to at White Family Funeral Home in Idabel, Oklahoma.
