Obituary of Betty Sue Tipton

Betty Sue Tipton, age 86of the Redland Community, OK passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Hugo, OK. She was born on February 2, 1931 in the Redland Community, OK. Betty was an accomplished homemaker and a wonderful cook with cornbread dressing being one of her best dishes. ever. She enjoyed going to garage sales and along with her late husband always raised a large garden every year. Betty was affiliated with the Assemblies of God and was a lifetime resident of the area. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvis “Slim” Nelson and Nellie Burchfield Nelson; husband, Harold William Tipton; brothers, Gene Jester, John W. Martin, Kenneth Martin and Pete Robbins; and a sister, Wanda Wysong. Betty is survived by her son, Keith Tipton of the Redland Community, OK; daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta and Rayford Peavy of Tatum, TX and Tami and Tony Parker of the Redland Community, OK; grandchildren, Reine Sowers, Sunni Westerfeld and Josh, Zachary Parker and Samantha, Shaun Peavy and Nicole and Jennifer Peavy; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Wally Finch of Flower Mound, TX; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
