Obituary of Howard T. Strawn

Howard T. Strawn, 76, of the Shultz Community, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007, in Oklahoma City. He was born October 5, 1930, in Idabel, Oklahoma, the son of George and Edna Strawn. He was married to Joyce Tolison Dickens on November 21, 1980, in Texarkana, Texas. Howard was in the United States Army, serving his country in the Korean War. He was a mechanic and retired from Red River Army Depot in 1988. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and working in his yard. He loved to work in his shop doing woodworking and building things for his family. His favorite pastime was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He had lived in the Idabel and Hooks, Texas, area his entire life. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Reed and Morris Strawn and two sisters, Lou Martin and Norma Coffman. Howard leaves to cherish his memory his wife Joyce of the home, 4 sons and daughters-in law, Glenn "Punkin" and Sharon Strawn, Tommy "Tater" and Lisa Strawn, of Idabel, Jerry "Pepper" and Tania Strawn of Dickinson, Texas and Howard Alan "Bugger" and Brandy Strawn, of Millerton; daughters, Myra Strawn of Idabel, and Marsha Gifford of Philadelphia, Mississippi; step-daughters, Kay Aldridge of Gladewater, Texas and Elaine Westberry of Gilmer, Texas; brothers, Glen and Helen Strawn of Idabel and Kim Strawn, Lyons of Oregon; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Strawn of Idabel 13 grandchildren, Ashli Strawn, Justine Gifford, Misty Rachal, Brad Peccio, Tracy and Brock Trotter, Tanner Strawn, Tara and Kevin Rolen, Meranda and Willie Brown, Jerry Lynn Strawn, Delton Strawn, Doug and Kristie Strawn, Cody and Aaron Strawn and Andrea Strawn; 8 great- grandchildren, Dalton Rachal, Tanith and Tyann Brown, Layndon, Blaken, Shelby, Bevin and Brody Strawn; 5 step-grandchildren; 9 step-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
