Obituary of Alan Eugene Tonihka

Alan Tonihka, age 60, passed away on, May 28, 2017 at his home in Idabel, OK. He was born on October 27, 1956 in Idabel, OK, the son of Wilson Amos Tonihka and Bertha Mae Ward Tonihka. Alan was a veteran of the US Army where he served as a combat engineer. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and riding around with his beloved dog, Lilbit. Alan was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was very proud of his Choctaw and Cheyenne-Arapaho heritage. Alan was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. Alan was a strong man of faith who believed in prayer. Beloved by his family and friends he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert Tonihka. Alan is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law; Ashley and David Summers; Alicia Tonihka and Andrew Plunk; grandchildren; Jayley Summers, Kinlei Summers, Jada Tonihka and Kacylnn Plunk; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sherrill and Dora Tonihka, William and Betty Tonihka and Wilbur Tonihka; a sister Elizabeth Ann Tonihka and Cyrus McKinney; several nieces nephews, other relatives and many friends.
