Obituary of Marie Turnage

We are laying to rest our beloved Ola Marie "Dixon" Turnage. Marie was born in Luxora, Arkansas on July 28, 1928 she left us on January 22, 2016 at the age of 88. She was the third child of John Freeman Dixon and Hettie Mae "Ralls" Dixon. Marie was joined in marriage to Elbert Arthur Turnage in which they completed their family with five boys. Marie was an avid seamstress and she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, playing games, fishing and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by both parents John F. Dixon and Hettie Dixon; siblings, Iva Mae Davis, Ertice Dixon, and J.W. Dixon; sons Freeman "Bo" Turnage and Rufus Turnage; daughter in law Clisty Turnage; grandsons Brent Coley Turnage and Mickey Turnage and great grandchildren Matthew Turnage and Carter Williams. Marie leaves to miss her surviving siblings Odessa Carter of Idabel, OK and Troy Dixon of Wichita, KS; sons, Roger and Sheila Turnage of Idabel, OK, David and Pamela Turnage of Tatum, TX and Phillip Turnage of Idabel, OK; a special nephew Jimmy Carter of DeQueen, AR, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.
