Obituary of Pete DeMorrow

Orville Paul "Pete" DeMorrow, age 82 passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 at his home in Idabel, OK. He was born on April 16, 1934 in Ft. Wayne, IN, the son of David and Ruby Studebaker DeMorrow. Pete married Phyllis Moran on November 1, 1953 in Bristol, IN. Pete was a 1952 graduate of Bristol High School in Bristol, IN. He came to Idabel in 1970 and was employed at Weyerhaeuser for 36 years before retiring. He was a longtime active member of the Idabel Country Club and served on the Board of Directors for several years. He loved golf and especially enjoyed his daily matches with his closest friends. Pete was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Idabel. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, David DeMorrow. Pete is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Wanda DeMorrow of Arkadelphia, AR and Greg and Nancy DeMorrow of Escanaba, MI; daughters, Barbara Valentine and Cindy Haslam, both of Idabel, OK; brothers, Jerry DeMorrow of Bloomfield, NM, Dean DeMorrow of 29 Palms, CA, Gene DeMorrow of Goshen, IN and Chuck DeMorrow of Hartland, ME; sisters, Susie Szymczak of Newark, OH and Peggy Holley of Indianapolis, IN; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
