Obituary of Cora Dorcas DeBlois

Cora Dorcas DeBlois, age 92 of Idabel, OK passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Idabel. She was born on September 16, 1924 in Newport, AR, the daughter of Harry and Catherine Perkins Jones. Dorcas had lived in Idabel since 2009 moving from the Valparaiso, FL area. She had an Associate Degree in Child Care and was involved in that for several years. Dorcas later attended cosmetology school and worked as a cosmetologist until retiring. Dorcas was a devoted Christian and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Idabel where she loved singing in the Choir. Prior to moving to Idabel she was a founding member and very active in her Church in Shalimar, FL. She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. Dorcas was a devoted mother, grandmother and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her sweet smile will be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John DeBlois; brothers, Charles Jones and Stanley Jones; and grandchildren, Rachael Ludwig and Kimberly McCown. Dorcas leaves to cherish her memory her daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Joe McCown of Idabel, OK, Charlotte and Lance Quinlan of Shalimar, FL and Alice McKelvey of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; a brother, Harry Jones of Jackson, TN; grandchildren, Chris Quinlan, Paul Quinlan, Michael Quinlan, Danielle Quinlan, Catherine Quinlan, Lance Quinlan IV, Shannon Quinlan, Stephen McCown and Melissa and Coy Loving; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
