Obituary of Betty Jo Rogers

Betty Jo (Starnes) Rogers, age 91, passed away November 22, 2016 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, OK. Betty Jo was born on December 23, 1924, the daughter of W.W. Starnes and Pauline (Bates) Starnes. She married CE “Buster” Rogers in 1946 in Fort Smith, AR. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Southwestern in Weatherford, Ok and her Master’s of Education from the University of Oklahoma. She was a longtime educator at Idabel Gray High School and E.T. Dunlap Center. She was a devoted member of the Bypass Church of Christ and dearly loved the Lord and her church family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three sisters, Evelyn McHenry, Earnestine Haralson & Sue Laengrich. She is survived by two sons, Joe (Betty) Rogers, Jerry (Anne) Rogers, all of Idabel, as well as five grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Cox of Haworth, Becky (Shea) Coursey of Idabel, TJ (Catherine) Rogers of Idabel, Charlie Rogers of Idabel, and Mike (Andrea) Rogers of McKinney, TX; eleven great grandchildren, Jay & Cole Clardy, Abbie & Jackson Rogers, Bradley, Lauren, Caden & Crew Coursey, Chloe, Molly & Katie Rogers; one brother, Wroyce Starnes of Walnut Creek, CA; one brother-in-law, Art Laengrich of Midland, TX; many other relatives and friends.
