Obituary of Edward Paul Knechel

Edward "Cicero" Knechel, age 91, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016 at his home in Idabel, OK. He was born in Allentown, PA on May 18, 1925, the son of Edward P. and Annie Moyer Knechel. He married Alice Schmitt on December 25, 1951 in St. Cloud, Florida. A veteran of the US Army. He operated a wholesale leather goods business for several years and was an accomplished saddle maker. He liked taking care of his yard and helping his sons on the farm. Cicero loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was affiliated with the First Baptist Church in Idabel and had lived here for 11 years coming from Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Knechel; and two sisters, Alverda and Edith. Survivors include his wife, Alice, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Ava Knechel and Doug and Michelle Knechel, all of Idabel, OK; grandchildren, Amanda and Josh Parks of Wickes, AR, Cecil Bryant of Belleglade, FL, Sarah Knechel, Jessica Wilkins, Lanie and Traz Hill, and Tyler Knechel all of Idabel, OK; great-grandchildren, Reagan, Ziggie Heath, Kirra, Kade, Bryson, Aiden, and Austyn; many other relatives and friends. Services to be private.
