Obituary of Juanita Friend

Juanita Friend, age 76, of the Moon Community passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Idabel, OK. She was born on September 29, 1939 in Haworth, OK, the daughter of Delmer and Anna Mae Smithson. Juanita worked at Tyson Foods for several years. She was an accomplished homemaker and was a wonderful cook and seamstress. Juanita enjoyed doing embroidery and search word puzzles. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Community Church and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilburn Friend; and her brother, Johnny Smithson. Juanita is survived by her son, Calvin Friend of the America Community, OK; daughters, Pam Baker of the Moon Community, OK and Glenda Friend of Idabel, OK; brothers, Marvin and Debbie Smithson of Ashdown, AR and Smitty Smithson and Rhonda of Haworth, OK; sisters, Nora and Jimmy Cox of Simms, TX, Charlotte Canaday of Idabel, OK and Mary Allen of Haworth, OK; grandchildren, Brandon Taylor, Nicholas and Miranda Taylor, Justin and Taylor Friend, Heather and Johnny Hawthorne, Shawn Dodds and Kyle and Kristin Friend; great-grandchildren, Rylee and Spencer Taylor, Peyton and Emma Friend and Ava Hawthorne; several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and a host of friends.
