Obituary of Ella Lucille Johnson

Ella Lucille Johnson, beloved Mother and Grandmother, passed away on August 29, 2016. She was 95 years old and lived in Idabel on the same corner for over 70 years. Ella was born on March 9, 1921 in a logging camp at 7 Devil’s Mountain. She and Jessie “Booster” Johnson were married in 1941 and together they raised 9 children and had 24 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, and 31 great-great grandchildren. Ella enjoyed large family gatherings where she prepared delicious meals .She enjoyed the outdoors, in her later years she especially enjoyed sitting on the front porch and visiting with family and friends, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her and will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Booster Johnson, two sons, Donald Ray and Robert Lee Johnson, and one daughter, Patsy Ruth Rose, and Sons-in-law, Sam Rose and Ned Peters. Survivors include three sons, Wesley Johnson and wife Sue, Jessie Johnson and wife Debby, Billy Johnson and wife Cindy, all of Idabel; three daughters, Mary Crank and husband Jim of Princeton, TX, Joyce Peters of Idabel and Sandy Harkey and husband Troy of Williamsport, IN; special nieces, Shirley May and Sarah Ledford; several other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the White Family Chapel with Rev Troy Harkey and Bro Joe Voyles officiating. Interment will follow at the Denison Cemetery.
