Obituary of Louise Stewart

Louise Stewart, age 93 of Idabel passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Idabel. Louise was born on July 7, 1923 in Plainview, AR, the daughter of William J Wright and Anna “Annie" White Wright. Louise was an accomplished businesswoman well before it was the norm for women to be active in business. She along with her husband owned and operated several successful businesses including a pole yard, a trucking company, a restaurant and a cattle operation. Louise was very proud of the fact that she had went back and got her GED after the age of 50. She was also a very compassionate person as evidenced by her 12,100 volunteer hours as a Pink Lady for the McCurtain Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was a loving mother and was very supportive of her children and whole family in every way she could be. At the Stewart home, Louise would cook breakfast for everyone that would show up and that would usually be a crowd because she was also a very good cook. The last several years Louise was a resident of Memorial Heights Nursing Home where she very much enjoyed playing bingo and socializing with the other residents and their families. Louise was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church and had lived most of her life in the Idabel area. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jack Stewart; infant twins; a grandson, Scott Stewart; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert E “Bob” Wright Sr. and Helen Wright Roulaine; half-sisters, Emma Louis Tillman, Johnnie Perkins, Hazel Wadley and Lucyle Willard; and half-brother, Paul William Wright. Louise is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin and Gail Stewart of Idabel, OK, Jack and Trudy Stewart of Idabel, OK and Charlie and LaJuana Stewart of Broken Bow, OK; grandchildren, Dr. Cathy Stewart Lightsey and Terry of Idabel, OK, Earl Stewart and Mary Beth of Ketchikan, AK, David Stewart and Nancy of Valliant, OK, James Stewart and Lynne of Pittsboro, NC, Stephanie Engler and Lee of Broken Bow, OK, Brad Stewart of Broken Bow, OK, Jackye Carole Palmer of Broken Bow, OK, Dr. Mark Stewart and Jennifer of DeQueen, AR, Amber Cook and Elton of Russelville, AR and Crystal Ritchie and JD of Idabel, OK; special nephews, Bill Wright and Francie of Muskogee, OK and Bob Wright Jr. and Andrea of Idabel, OK; numerous other relatives and many friends..
