Obituary of Larry Combs

Larry Glen Combs, age 65, of Tom, OK passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016. He was born on December 21, 1950 at the County Bell Hospital in Fort Hood, Texas, the son of Robert Steven Combs and Lucy Noreen Proctor Combs. Larry worked all his life in the log-woods or as a sawyer at a saw-mill. He enjoyed a good old fashioned coon hunt and would stay the night in the woods if it was exciting enough and of course the excitement depended on the whether or not he had a good coon-dog. He loved spending time with his family and would hitch a team of horses to the wagon and take all his kids and grand-kids for a ride down his favorite dirt roads. Spending the night with Dad meant watching marathon movies of his favorite old, old westerns and listening to him recite the actor's lines from memory. Larry died doing what he loved...hunting! Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, James Edward Combs. Larry is survived by his wife, Latresa Combs of Lodi, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Jennifer Combs of Tom, OK; daughters and son-in-law, Kelly and Michael Moore of Aledo, TX, Shona Combs of Wilton, AR and Earlene Langley of Mt. Vernon, TX; step-son, Stacy Alford of Lodi, TX and step-daughter, Marcie and Kevin Horne; sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Patrick Wing of Horatio AR; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert Earl and Linda Combs of Linden, TX; a very special friend and the mother of his children, Patricia Combs of Haworth, OK Grandchildren: 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren several nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
