Obituary of Ollie Mae Wise

Ollie Butler Wise was born on December 11, 1958 to Mrs. Eva Mae Butler in Idabel, Oklahoma. Ollie gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined Rose Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Crawford. She later moved her membership to the Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Allen Gulley were she remained a member. Ollie grew up in Idabel, Oklahoma and attended Booker T. Washington School. Due to integration, she was forced to attend Idabel Public School. Ollie graduated from Idabel High School, Class of 1977. Upon completion of high school, she moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma were she was employed with the Oklahoma City Public School System. Ollie Mae later returned home to Idabel and attended Kiamichi Vo-Tech in Idabel, Oklahoma. In 1981, she was employed with the Little Dixie Headstart Program. She also threw the paper for the Idabel Gazette for 3yrs. Ollie married Theodis Wise, the love of her life of 38 years in April of 1978. To this union three beautiful children were born. Ollie enjoyed raising her children and becoming a grandmother. Ollie Mae was a very proud fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Oklahoma City Thunders. Ollie also took great pride in sharing the same birthday with her sister, Ethel Mae Caldwell. Ollie Mae (Hawk) never met a stranger. She was well known and will be greatly missed in the community of Idabel. The community will not be the same without seeing Ollie Mae sitting on her porch waving and yelling at everybody that passes by. God in His infinite wisdom chose to take Ollie Mae Butler Wise from earth to her reward on May 21, 2016. Ollie was preceded in death by her mother Eva Mae Butler, Brother- Vernell Butler, Grandson- Martin David Hooks III, Esther L Watson Cooper, Virgil Cooper, Vivian L Cooper and Vaster Cooper. Ollie leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 38 years- Theodis Wise, one daughter-Shala Wise Hooks (Martin) of Oklahoma City, OK , two sons- Demarlyon Wise and Carmine Wise of Idabel, OK, Siblings- Aretha Butler Cole, William Butler of Oklahoma City, Ethel Mae Caldwell (Clarence) of Kansas City, MO, Robert and Gary Butler of Idabel, OK, Verdelle Nichols, Alonzo Cooper, Clara Lee Cooper, William Cooper Sr., Aster Cooper Sr., Affie & Charles Boyles and Effie Gordon; three Maternal- Aunts- Opal T. Roberts of Idabel, OK, Annie Mae Dunn of California, Mary Craft of Kansas City, KS, Netta and Charlezetta; six grandchildren- LaShadrejuna, MarTiya, Marquez, MarLee Jean, Armonnie and Jalein; dear friends- Coyarlta Nelson and Kim Mosley. A very close cousin Norma Jean Samuals and her best friend "sister" of forty-five years Lavada Shoals. She also leaves to cherish her memories a host of relatives and friends.
