Obituary of Alvin H. Hamil

Alvin H. Hamil, age 76, of Idabel, Ok. passed away peacefully on April 29, 2016 at home. He was born May 8, 1939, in Goodwater, OK. Alvin was the son of Newman and Dorothy Barrick Hamil. He was a devoted husband of 53 years and a loving father. He was a hair stylist for 35 years in California. After retiring, he moved back to Goodwater and went into truck patch farming. Alvin loved the dirt, grew produce and sold it at the farmer’s market. Alvin grew the best produce in McCurtain County. When Alvin was not farming he was on the river fishing or playing dominoes with his senior buddies. Alvin filled his soul and heart with fellowship at the Lynn Lane Church of Christ. Alvin was preceded in death by; his son, James Harold Hamil; his parents, Newman and Dorothy Hamil; brother, Bobby Hamil; a sister, Patsy Hamil Flori ; brothers-in-law, Marvin Harris, Robert Humphrey, Donald Silvers; sister-in-law, Barbara Robinson He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Hamil of the home; daughter, Dawn and Clayton Wishoff of Forest City, Ca; grandsons, Steven and Tyler Wishoff of Forest City, Ca., Matt Wishoff of Forest City, Ca.; great-granddaughter, Natasha Wishoff of Sacramento, Ca.; brothers, Dr. C. Gene and Joann Hamil of Quinlain, Tx., Byron and Loretta Hamil of Goodwater, Ok.; sisters Margaret Harris of Windsor, Co., Janell Hamil of Goodwater, Ok.; brother-in-law, James and Corrinne McInnis of Hamilton, Tx.; many nieces, nephews, aunt and uncles and many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated at the American Cancer Society/Esophageal research or the Lynn Lane Church of Christ.
