Obituary of Vicki French

Vicki French, age 62, passed away on, Wednesday, April 6 at her home in Idabel, OK. She was born on March 16, 1954 in Concord, NC, the daughter of Joseph Venson Harrell and Lucille Aldmon Harrell. She married Gary French in Seminole, OK on December 7, 1981. She and Gary moved to Idabel in 1983 to become managers of the Idabel Country Club. This began a 30 year journey where many wonderful friends and memories were made. Vicki came as a manger for the club but her outgoing personality, compassion and her unique ability to get along with all kinds of people quickly made her and Gary more like family. She was also a wonderful cook and it was very important to her that the customers enjoyed their experience. Vicki enjoyed golfing and was an excellent putter. She loved trips to the beach where she was known to always find more shells than anyone else. After retiring it gave her more time to garden and she always had one of the prettiest gardens on the golf course. Vicki attended Church at the First United Methodist in Idabel. Vicki was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend and she will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents. Vicki leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Gary French of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Danny Colbert of Idabel, Jimmy and Sherry Colbert of Mead, OK and Joseph and Kristi French of Oklahoma City; daughters and son-in-law, Jennifer and Brian Filippone of Yukon, OK, Deby Lawson of Idabel and Reecha Phillips of Yukon, OK; grandchildren, Sabian Colbert, Elizabeth Bond, Becks Kaiser, Rythm French, Chord French and Melody French; several other relatives and many friends.
