Obituary of James Pompa

Saturday, February 27, 2016 at his home in Idabel, OK. He was born on December 9, 1945 in East Los Angeles, CA, the son of Melquiades and Elizabeth Weidner Pompa. James married his wife, Carol on February 10, 1990 in Las Vegas, NV. James was a veteran of the US Navy. He worked as a truck driver and called bingo at the American Legion in Idabel for several years. James was a member of the American Legion and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He volunteered with Hand to Hand and worked with the Tulsa Food Bank to bring food to the area. James was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had lived in Idabel for over 10 years coming from Tulsa, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and several sisters. James is survived by his beloved wife, Carol of the home; a son, Lee Pompa of Tulsa, OK; daughters, April Ferris of Oklahoma City and Marcie Ferris of Idabel; sisters, Florence Starry of Idabel and Dorothy Holder of West Corvina, CA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
