Obituary of Charlie James

Charlie James, 68, of Millerton passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2007 in his home. He was born August 6, 1938, the son of Bud and Eva Mae Wright James. On June 30, 1980 he married Dorothy Norman at Hugo, OK. Charlie had lived in McCurtain County most of his lifetime. Before joining the United States Navy, he had lived in Oregon for a brief time and also in Maryland. Charlie enjoyed gardening. He was a collector of guns and hunting memorabilia. He was a member of the North American Fishing Club. He was preceded in death by his parents. Charlie is survived by his wife, Dorothy James of the home; sons, Steven James, David James, and Ricky Lee James all of Maryland; daughter, Mary Zedeck of Maryland; step-sons, Phil Pitchford and Harley Pitchford both of Golden; step-daughters, Lillie Taylor of Millerton and Phyllis Rice of Ringold, 2 brothers and 2 sisters; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
