Obituary of Lena Powers

Lena Powers, age 82 of Idabel passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Texarkana, TX. She was born on March 7, 1933 in Memphis, TN. Lena married Charles Powers on April 7, 1961 in Hernando, MS. Lena was a homemaker. She loved fishing and camping and spending time with her family. Lena also enjoyed reading, cooking and playing cards. She had lived in Idabel for 40 years moving from Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Cochran and Julia Mae Doramus Cochran; a son, Richard Hardin; and 14 brothers and sisters. Lena is survived by her husband, Charles Powers of the home; son, Charles "Chuck" Powers Jr. of Temple, TX; daughters and son-in-law, Molly and Terry Hayes of Hernando, MS and Connie Moore of Broken Bow, OK; a sister, Martha Ellison of Gulfport, MS; 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the White Family Chapel with Bro Andy Bowman officiating. Interment will follow at the Denison Cemetery.
