Obituary of Bert Holt

Bert Holt, age 64, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at his home in Antlers, OK. He was born on August 5, 1950 in Tom, OK. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of the VietNam War. Bert was a drug and alcohol counselor for over 30 years. He worked at the Choctaw Nation Recovery Center and Kiamichi Council on Alcoholism and other Drug Abuse. He was an avid motorcycle rider and loved spending time with his family. Bert was a member of the Kulli Tuklo Methodist Church as well as a proud member of the Choctaw Nation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel Holt and Selma Maytobe Holt; a son, Ira Huston Holt; and a brother, Nathaniel Holt. Bert is survived by his wife, Faye Holt of the home; daughters, Michelle Holt and Jeff Madbull of Rattan, OK, Kim Holt of Idabel, OK and Angela Holt of Antlers, OK; a son, Tim Holt of Rattan, OK; grandchildren, Chris Baker, Mona Jones, Ivan Wayne Baker Jr., Jordan Holt and Kamryn Baker; brothers, Alan Holt and Beth, Joel Wayne Holt, Nathan Holt and Bobbi and Melvin Maytubbie and Donna; sisters, Juanita Lajeunesse, Mona Salinas and Margaret McKinney and Deroy; several nieces nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the White Family Chapel with Jesse Pacheco officiating. Interment will follow at the Kulli Tuklo Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
