Obituary of Jewell Williams Alexander

Jewell Williams Alexander, age 90 of Broken Bow, OK passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015. She was born on July 31, 1924 in Haworth, OK, the daughter of Wilson and Ada Ray Degroot. She was a social worker and retired from the OK Dept of Human Services after over 20 years of service. Jewell enjoyed taking care of her many pets and gardening. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Broken Bow where she sang in the choir. She was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. Jewell was a devoted mother, grandmother and loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, JT Williams; and a son, Johnny Williams. Jewell is survived by her daughter, Sherry Pratt of Broken Bow; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Baker Williams of Garvin, OK; grandchildren, Justin Pratt, Kyle Pratt and Joe Don Williams all of Broken Bow and Michael Williams of Ada, OK; numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Broken Bow Cemetery in Broken Bow, OK with Roy Peevy officiating.
