Obituary of Taylor Wheat

Taylor Wheat, age 17 passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at his home in Idabel, OK. He was born on August 16, 1997 in Idabel, the son of Charles "Tony" and Mindi Jo Smith Wheat. Taylor was a Senior at Haworth High School. He was involved in vocal music and was a member of the Haworth Show Choir. Taylor also competed in cross country for the school. He was also active in Stand for the Silent an anti-bullying group. Taylor enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to all kinds of music. Taylor was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed his mission work with the church. He was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles Wayne Wheat and an uncle, David Cody Wallace. Taylor is survived by his parents, Charles "Tony" Wheat and Mindi; his sister, Amber Wheat; and brother, Austin Wheat all of the home; maternal grandparents, Janice and Bill Drake and Sterling and Cindy Smith all of Idaho Falls, Idaho; paternal grandmother, Charlotte Wheat of Austin, TX; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; many other relatives, friends and classmates. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2015 at the Haworth High School Auditorium in Haworth, OK, with President Wayne Scwerin officiating. Interment will follow at a private family cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the Idabel Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
