Obituary of Ann Brown

Ann Brown, age 81, of Idabel, OK passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Idabel. She was born on July 21, 1933 in Jasper, TX, the daughter of Clyde and Attie Rodgers Kinnear. Growing up in Jasper, TX Ann' parents operated Kinnear Motors. She was a talented basketball player a cheerleader and also a former rodeo queen. Ann received her bachelor's degree in business from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. She last worked as a social worker for the OK Dept. of Human Services. Ann owned and operated Gifts Galore for several years prior to that. Ann was an avid golfer. She was a longtime member of the Idabel Country Club and was a former club champion. Ann and her husband also operated Sandbaggers Driving Range for a short time. In later years she enjoyed working in her yard and gardening. She was a member of the St. Lukes Episcopal Church and had lived in Idabel since 1971. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Roy Brown. Ann leaves to cherish her memory her son and daughter-in-law, Kurt and Debby Brown of Texarkana, TX; daughter, Kim Walters of Idabel, OK; grandchildren, Misty and Ryan Dunn and Kristen Walters and Justin Cherry, all of Idabel; great-grandchildren, Braden Wesley and Camryn Dunn, both of Idabel; brother and sister-in-law, Joe Bruce and Anna Kinnear of Jasper, TX; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the White Family Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the ARK in honor of Ann's love of animals.
