Obituary of Nancy Cooke Moffitt

Nancy Cooke Moffitt, age 79, of Idabel, OK passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Idabel, OK. She was born on August 24, 1935 in Yreka, CA, the daughter of Carl Joseph and Mary Elizabeth DeFaria Mello. Nancy received her associates degree in business from Mount Shasta College in Redding, CA. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, feeding her birds and listening to George Strait music. Nancy was a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Idabel, OK. Her faith and her church were very important to her. Nancy also very much cherished the time she spent with her rosary group. Nancy was a devoted mother and grandmother and she loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Kenneth Cooke and William Moffitt; brother, Charley Mello; and an infant daughter, Katy Cooke. Nancy leaves to cherish her memory her sons and daughter-in-law, James Dennis Cooke of Blackwell, OK and John David Cooke and Bertha of Ft. Worth, TX; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Nel Guyer and Christina and Joseph Shelledy, all of Oklahoma City, OK, Diane Musil of Crescent, OK, Donna Kay and Eino Lahiti of Edmond, OK, Delphina and Chad Endlsey of Garvin, OK; step-children, Kevin and Joan Moffitt of Glen Ellyn, IL and Kelly and Chris Burke of Nashville, TN; 27 grandchildren; 9-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lou Slette and Martha Lindgren, both of Ft. Jones, CA, and Joan Hill of Sacramento, CA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A rosary will be held on Thursday, March 19 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Idabel. The funeral mass will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2015 at the St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Idabel with Father Daniel Campos officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
