Obituary of Cecil West

Cecil Ray West Sr., age 68, of Idabel, OK passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Idabel, OK. He was born on September 21, 1946 at Dallas, TX, the son of Chester Ray and Verline Thompson West. He married Judy Burnes in Idabel on January 19, 1988. Ray was a veteran of the US Army. He was a long-time volunteer for the American Red Cross. Ray loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his dogs. He was affiliated with the Baptist faith and had lived in McCurtain County for 40 years moving from Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Melvin West and a sister, Florence Price. Ray is survived by his wife, Judy, of the home; sons, Cecil R. West Jr. and wife, Nina, of Senatobia, MS and Patrick West and wife, Amber, of Pauls Valley, OK; daughters, Melissa Thomas and husband, Curtis, of Heavener, OK and Alicia Forbit of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Destiny West, Crystal Bond, Justin Bond, Rachel West, Tyler West, Eric Graham, Stormy Graham, Rustin Graham, and Jarryn Forbit; sister, Sue Voss, and husband, Steve, of Idabel; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK with Bro. Chuck Darby and Rev. Rosa Baker officiating.
