Obituary of Ronnie M Dillard

Ronnie M. Dillard, age 71, of Idabel, Oklahoma went to his heavenly home on the evening of February 25, 2015. The good Lord gained a great man for his kingdom of Angels. Ronnie was born on June 18, 1943 in Eufaula, Oklahoma, moving here in 1957. Ronnie was in the United States Army from 1963 to 1971. He was a jack of all trades, an electrician, hog farmer for Tyson, and most recent an electrician for construction companies. He loved to invent and tinker with things to make his life on the farm easier. Ronnie was a member of the Idabel Masonic Lodge # 164. Ronnie spent his days while not working, enjoying life to the fullest. He loved the outdoors camping, hunting, & fishing were second hand nature. He enjoyed spending quality time with family members shooting both guns & archery. Ronnie loved music & dancing spending many nights on the dance floor. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye. No matter what they wanted “PaPa” got it for them. You could always find him on the floor coloring, playing hot wheels, or sitting down having a tea party. You could find him on spring days at the creek with them teaching them how to swim, catch fish, or making the perfect s’more around the campfire. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Dillard and Marie Martin Dillard. Ronnie leaves his memories to his soulmate JoAnn Slabaugh of the home; sons & daughters in law, Shane Dillard and wife, Samantha, of Idabel, Oklahoma; Christopher Slabaugh and wife, Jonna, of Idabel, Oklahoma, and James Slabaugh of Fort Worth, Texas; daughters, Laronda Dillard and Shannon Whisenhunt, both of Idabel, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Tyler, Andrew and Kelsie Dillard, all of Idabel , Oklahoma, Abby and Zack Packwood of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Dylan, Dakota and Elizabeth Whisenhunt, all of Idabel, Oklahoma, Alexis and Hagen Slabaugh, both of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; along with an extended family, nephews, nieces, aunts & uncles, along with a host of friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the White Family Chapel. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 2, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
