Obituary of John A Bryan

John A Bryan, age 78 of Idabel, OK passed away on Sunday February 8, 2015 at Paris, TX. He was born on November 6, 1936 in Cooper, TX, the son of Aubrey and Ruby Hatfield Bryan. John was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a maintenance mechanic for Brown and Root before retiring. John enjoyed fishing, metal detecting and travelling. He was a member of the Lynn Lane Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Elizabeth Bryan; sisters, Ruth Woolaver and Mattie Harlow; and a brother, WT Bryan. John is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, John A Bryan Jr. and Kathy of Valliant, OK and DeWayne Bryan and Kimberly of Millerton, OK; grandchildren, Matthew Bryan, Kyle Gambol, Chelsea Golden, Courtney Nix and Brianna Nix; great-grandchild, Scout Kathleen Golden; sister, Dorothy Whittington of Arlington, TX; a special friend, Effie Sullivan of Idabel, OK; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the White Family Chapel with Aubrey Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at the Canfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service.
