Obituary of Stevan Ray Womack

Stevan Ray Womack, age 43, of Broken Bow, OK passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Oklahoma City, OK. He was born on May 9, 1971 in Dallas, TX, the son of Edgar and Shirley Ann Weeks Womack. Stevan was a 1990 graduate of Valliant High School and eventually married his high school sweetheart, Leah Michelle Nash on July 21, 2007. Stevan was a veteran of the US Marine Corp. He was a welder and had worked construction projects all over. He was a reserve deputy for the McCurtain Count Sherriff’s Office and really enjoyed the work helping others. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Stevan loved spending time with family and friends at deer camp. He was also a real prankster and the better he liked you the more likely you were to be a victim of one of his pranks. Stevan was a member of the Valliant First Baptist Church and a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. Stevan battled his illness with great courage and dignity and was an inspiration to many. He had a very gentle soul and a big heart and he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Womack; and his sister, Lalana Cobb. Stevan leaves to cherish his memory his wife Leah Michelle Womack of Broken Bow, OK; his mother, Shirley Womack of Garvin, OK; a son, Dustin Womack of Rattan, OK; daughters, Brett Womack of Rattan, OK and Rochelle Kitch of DeQueen, AR; brother, James “Bill” Womack Fulton of Garvin, OK; sister and brother-in-law, Cherl Womack-Heighton and William of Meridian, MS; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lillian Nash-Lewis and Michael of Temple, TX; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Valliant, OK with Bro. Mike Mings and Bro. Bob Thornburg officiating. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery in the Forest Grove Community, OK. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the funeral home.
