Obituary of Bonnie Mae Hughes

Bonnie Mae Hughes, age 92, lifetime resident of McCurtain County passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Idabel, OK. She was born on October 15, 1922, the daughter of Eddie and Minnie Wesley Durant. Bonnie was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting and travelling. She loved taking care of her family and doing for others. Bonnie was a member of the Mt. Zion Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnnie Lee Hughes; daughter, Jo Ann Dickerson; brother, William Durant; and sisters, Laura Bell Durant, Rosie Tidwell, and Francille Durant. Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Mary Castaneda of Bagwell, TX; son-in-law, Joe Dickerson of Millerton, OK; a sister, Dorothy Louise Powell of the Oak Hill community; brother, Cecil Durant of Idabel, OK; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and a host of friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the Valliant Cemetery with Rev. Steve Marx officiating.
