Obituary of Imogene Ward

Imogene Ward, age 78 of Idabel passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Idabel, OK. She was born on May 22, 1936 in the Lukfata Community, OK, the daughter of Carl and Mary Whiteman Prewitt. Imogene was a 1954 graduate of Broken Bow High School. Imogene was a homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of her rose garden and listening to music. Imogene was a member of the Lynn lane Church of Christ. She was an avid reader of her bible and even after her sight failed her she listened to it on audio tapes. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Imogene never forgot a birthday and made sure she sent a card even after becoming sick. She was very proud of her family and loved spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles "Charlie" Ward; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Imogene leaves to cherish her memory; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Jana Ward of Texarkana, AR and Darrell and Ella Ward of Idabel, OK; daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia Ward of Idabel, OK, Lacretia and Richard Wiggins of Broken Bow, OK and Marla and Alex Mathis of Horatio, AR; grandchildren, Brandon Ward, Elizabeth Longacre, Alexis Ward, Hayden Ward, Trevor Matlock, Alannah Pannell, Kyle Mathis and James Mathis; great-grandchildren, Victoria Gibbs, Emily Tomlinson, Skye Walls and Drake Walls; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, William and Eula Ward of Tulsa, OK, Pat Poteet and Clara Ward both of Idabel, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the White Family Chapel with Virgil Romine officiating. Interment to follow at the Denison Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Friday, January 2, 2015.
