Obituary of Buddy Wicker

Buddy Wicker, age 87 of Idabel passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Idabel. He was born in DeQueen, AR on October 28, 1927 the son of, Claud Vernon Wicker and Callie Hines Wicker. Buddy married Alene Bates on March 13, 1948 in DeQueen, AR. Buddy was a veteran of the US Army and served a year in Korea during the reconstruction period after WWII. He worked 10 years for Hamilton Landscaping in New Jersey, it was seasonal work and he and Alene would travel back and forth to New Jersey. Buddy went to work for the Weyerhaeuser Sawmill in Wright City where he worked 23 years as a hyster mechanic before retiring. He was a Master Mason and enjoyed fishing, working on cars and boating with his family. One of his favorite things to do was fixing breakfast when the family was all in. Buddy attended the First United Methodist Church in Idabel and was a lifetime resident of the area. Buddy was a wonderful husband and provider to his wife and a devoted and loving father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, William Alvin Wicker. Buddy leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 67 years Alene Wicker of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Bonnie Wicker of Brighton, TN and Frank Wicker and Jaimee of Idabel, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Bob Stiles of El Reno, OK; grandchildren, Kary Kee, Walt Wicker, Adam Wicker, Emilee Wicker, Jared Wicker, Will Stiles, Russell Stiles and Caleb Stiles; great-grandchildren, Karson Kee, William Kee and Addison Kee; a sister, Juanita Small of Indio, CA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the White Family Chapel with Rev. David Mercer and Rev. Ronnie Bates officiating. Interment to follow at the Denison Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 28, 2014.
