Obituary of Eriss McKinney

Eriss McKinney, age 84 of Idabel, OK passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Paris, TX. She was born on September 10, 1930 in Corinne, OK, the daughter of Sam Brandy and Georgia Sampson Brandy. Eriss was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and the changing of the seasons, her favorite being fall when the leaves began to change. Eriss was of the Presbyterian Faith and was a lifetime resident of the Idabel area. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Suzanne Shomo; infant sons, Sammy McKinney and Gerald McKinney; and sisters, Diana Harris and Ella Mae Harley. Eriss is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Silas McKinney Jr and Betty of Broken Bow, OK, Gwen Dale McKinney and Ruth of Paris, TX, Cyrus McKinney and Ann of Oklahoma City, OK and Gary Johnson of Idabel, OK; daughters and son-in-law, Gaye Dawn Shomo and Stanley of Broken Bow, OK and Marian Shomo of Idabel, OK; brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond Brandy and Lorenza of Valliant, OK and DeRoy McKinney and Margaret of Haworth, OK; sisters, Hannah Blackowl and Ernestine Courson both of Idabel, OK; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews , other relatives and many friends. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 31, 2014 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK. Interment will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery with Rev. Stanley Shomo officiating. A wake service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the funeral home.
