Obituary of Mack Sweeden

Henry “Mack” Sweeden, age 63, of Idabel, OK passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born on May 9, 1951 in Broken Bow, OK, the son of Henry and LaVerne Bray Sweeden. Mack worked for Mixon Bro's Wood Preserving for many years and most recently operated heavy equipment in construction. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where he served as deacon. Mack loved riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. Mack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He loved working, fishing and being with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carlton Sweeden; and a sister, Shelia King. Mack is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy Sweeden, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Rizza Sweeden of Denison, TX and Jim and Denise Sweeden of Kennwick, WA; brother, Bill Sweeden of Broken Bow; sisters, Joy Johnson of Idabel and Sue Young of Hot Springs, AR; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces nephews other relatives and a host of friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Trinity Baptist Church with Bro. Mahlon Smith and Bro. Otis Cayton officiating. Interment will follow at Canfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2014 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or cancer.org/givehope.
