Obituary of Geneva Finney

Geneva Mae Bloodworth Finney, age 95 went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at her home in Idabel, OK. She was born on February 12, 1919, to Jesse and Elizabeth Bloodworth of Willow Springs, OK. Geneva was a 1938 graduate of Haworth High School. Geneva was a homemaker. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, and very honored to have been allowed to choose the name for the church. Geneva loved her church and her church family and worked for her Lord unceasingly for many, many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, and 2 sisters, and by her beloved husband of 63 years, Dale Finney. Geneva is survived by her two children, a daughter, Carol Finney Cornett, and her husband, George Cornett of Blanchard, OK; a son and faithful caregiver, Jerry Finney of the home; grandchildren, Leesa Shelton, Tori Murphy, Tara Hanson, Alan Cornett, Hodi Morales, and Jerry Finney Jr.; 14 great-grandchildren, and a surviving sister, Joann Tucker of Durant, OK; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends in her church family at Calvary Baptist Church in Idabel, OK. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Idabel, OK with Bro Doug Clements, Bro Mike Shelton and Bro James Kesner officiating. Interment will follow at the Denison Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the funeral home.
