Obituary of Rayford Williamson

Rayford Williamson, age 74 of Idabel, OK passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014. He was born on November 17, 1939 in Garvin, OK, the son of Sam and Omie Jones Williamson. Rayford was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from Weyerhaeuser after 28 years working as a millwright and later was the safety officer at the Wright City Lumber Mill. Rayford enjoyed visiting with friends and family. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes as well as pull pranks. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carolyn Williamson; brothers, Don Williamson, Roy Dale Williamson and John Henry Williamson; and a sister, Carol Balch. Rayford is survived by his daughter, Renee Woods of Broken Bow, OK; a son, Marlon Freeman of Lawton, OK; grandchildren, Kari Lennox, Garrett Woods and Gracie Woods all of Broken Bow, OK; sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Lynn York of Geronimo, OK; a special niece, Nancy Graham of Garvin, OK; several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and a host of friends. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 4, at the White Family Chapel with Bro. Troy Ruffin officiating.
