Obituary of Herby Stocks

James Herbert "Herby" Stocks, age 52 passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014 at his home in Idabel, OK. He was born on March 20 1962 at Altus, OK, the son of Marvin Richard Stocks and Vernon Louise Land Stocks. Herby served in the Oklahoma National Guard for over 18 years. He worked as a millwright and enjoyed fishing, cooking and making people laugh. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; and brothers, Jerry Stocks and Andy Stocks. Herby is survived by his mother, Louise Stocks of Idabel, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Kris Jones of Valliant, OK; his son, Blake Stocks of Grapevine, TX; grandchildren, Ashton Stocks of Grapevine, TX, Kaven Jones and Allie Stevenson both of Valliant, OK; sisters-in-law, Karen Stocks of Idabel, OK and Tina Stocks of Durant, OK; nephews, Christopher Stocks, Elvin Jerrod Stocks and Alvin Davis all of Idabel, OK; former wife and mother of his children, Angela Young of Grapevine, TX; former mother-in-law, Doris Webb of Valliant, OK; several other relatives and a host of friends. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday July 23, 2014 at the Haworth Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the funeral home.
