Obituary of Wilma Emhoolah

Wilma Emhoolah, age 64 of Idabel, OK passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Paris, TX. She was born on January 7, 1950 in Idabel, OK. Wilma was a 1968 graduate of Idabel Gray High School. She later graduated from Oklahoma State University of Technology at Okmulgee, OK. Wilma married Richard Emhoolah on January 11, 1973 in Oklahoma City, OK. Wilma worked at McCurtain Memorial Hospital for over 30 years as a CNA and in housekeeping. After marrying Richard she enjoyed attending Indian Pow Wow's which were a part of Richard's Kiowa Indian heritage. Wilma was a country music fan and Charley Pride and Loretta Lynn were among her favorites. She enjoyed working word puzzles. Wilma was a member of the Kulli Tuklo Methodist Church and a lifetime resident of the Idabel area. Wilma was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and very much cherished the time she spent with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee A Wesley and Phoebe Mitchell Wesley; a brother, Marion A Whitten Sr.; and her sister, Fern Dollar. Wilma leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Richard Emhoolah of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Vernal Richard Emhoolah Jr. and Tracy of Longview, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Donna Kay Dugosh and Boyce of Idabel, OK; grandchildren, Brittany Kay Emhoolah, Stephanie Diane Emhoolah, Madison Evelyn Emhoolah, Vernal Richard Emhoolah III, Daisy Erin Dugosh, Phoebe Danielle Dugosh and Sophie Noel Dugosh; a great-grandchild, William Braden Emhoolah; brothers, Larry M Wesley, Leon Rhea Wesley, Horace Whitten and John Williams and Susan all of Idabel, OK; a sister, Nancy Imogene Temples and Henry of Valliant, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the White Family Chapel. Interment will follow at the Kulli Tuklo Cemetery. A wake service will be held from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the funeral home.
