Obituary of Bud Harris

John T. Bud Harris, 78, of Idabel passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Paris. He was born June 28, 1928 in Idabel, the son of James David and Donnie Bell Willie Harris. Bud married Jessie Brewer in Van Buren, Arkansas on July 29, 1952. Bud was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He owned and operated Harris Heat and Air for many years and later worked for Tyson Foods before retiring just a few years ago. Bud was a charter member of the Tri Lakes Bass Club when it was formed in 1991. He was a member of Grace Assembly Church in Idabel and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Harris; and sisters, Dora Lee Anderson, Nellie Young, and Delores Scott. Bud leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 54 years, Jessie of Idabel; sons and daughters-in-law, Floyd and Connie Harris of Idabel, and Jimmy and Melissa Harris of the Goodwater Community; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Herbert Williams of Broken Bow, and Brenda and Bob Baird of Annona, Texas; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Fishermans Prayer God grant that I may live to fish Until my dying day And when it comes to my last cast I then most humbly pray When in the Lord's safe landing net I'm peacefully asleep That in his mercy I be judged As good enough to keep.
