Obituary of Frances Tassey

Frances Tassey, age 86, went to be with her Lord and loved ones on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family in the Pleasant Hill Community, OK. She was born on July 14, 1927 in Canadian County, OK, the daughter of Jasper and Mattie Scott Flood. Frances was raised in the Harris Community, where she attended school. She raised her family in the Pleasant Hill Community. Frances lived an extraordinary life; a dedicated mother and grandmother, Frances was beloved by everyone who knew her. She was an incredibly tough, generous, and hard-working woman; she loved with all her heart and was a joy and inspiration to all who knew her. She loved to fish, garden, and spoil her babies. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Sam Blackburn and Cas Tassey; her beloved daughter, Aleene Johnson in 1990; and 10 brothers and sisters. Frances leaves to cherish her memory her daughters and sons-in-law, Vada and Jimmy Stark of Haworth, OK, Bonnie and Elvin Jennings of Pattonville, TX and Gearldine and Bill Chapman of Texarkana, TX; sons and daughters-in-law, Sam and BJ Blackburn of Tom, OK and RJ and Patricia Blackburn of Haworth, OK; sisters, Elvie Knighten and Mary Jo Posey both of Haworth, OK; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
