Obituary of Jeannie Jamison

Jeannie "Mama Jean" Jamison, age 74 of the Cisco Community, OK passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Idabel. She was born on July 20, 1939 in the Cisco Community, OK, the daughter of Lester and Mable Burnett. Jeannie married Cecil Jamison on May 24, 1956 in Hugo, OK. Jeannie was a homemaker and worked as a hairdresser for many years. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed quilting. Jeannie attended River Bottom Baptist Church until she became sick. She was a lifetime resident of the Cisco Community, OK. Jeannie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her and her husband Cecil were always willing to take a child in and help raise and did so on several occasions. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Anthony Keith Jamison; grandsons, Tyler Scott Brown and William Jason Sprague; and 4 brothers. Jeannie is survived by her husband, Cecil Jamison of the Cisco Community, OK; daughters, LaGena and Gary Brown and Marsa and Michael Green all of Hot Springs, AR; son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Patty Jamison of the Cisco Community, OK; sister, Margaret Johnson of Kansas; grandsons who they helped raise, Brent Jamison and Will Jamison; a special great-granddaughter who they helped raise, Ashlyn Michelle Jamison of Broken Bow, OK; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK with Pastor Brent Coffey officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in the Forest Grove Community, OK. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014 at the funeral home.
