Obituary of Velva Stephens Wilson

Velva Stephens Wilson age 65 passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Texarkana, TX. She was born on June 18, 1948 in Prineville, OR, the daughter of Roy and Augusta Wyatt Stephens. Velva worked as a waitress, managed apartment buildings and at one time owned her own business. She enjoyed playing cards and was a very good player. Velva loved being around people especially her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Robbie Batchelor and Cleta Lane; and brothers, Terral Stephens and Chick Stephens. Velva leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Sherri Russell of Clearwater, FL and Brandy Johnson of Idabel, OK; grandchildren, Kayla Cheng of Gulfport, FL, Tyler Russell of Clearwater, FL, Samantha Dorey Matthew Harper and Willow Harper all of Idabel, OK; a great-grandson, Nathan Dorey of Idabel, OK; sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Buzz Chalfant of the Forest Grove Community, OK; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the funeral home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK with Jerry Falling officiating. Interment will follow at Piney Cemetery.
