Obituary of Flo Jeanes

Family, friends, and the Idabel community will mourn the loss of Florine "Flo" M. Holman Jacobs Jeanes as she ascended to Heaven on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at McKinney Medical Center in McKinney, Texas. She was surrounded by family and friends. Flo was born on December 17, 1928, in the Forest Grove community. Flo was a life long resident of Idabel and was married to the late Colonel Jacobs Jr. from 1948 to 1968 and they had 4 beautiful children, Jimmy, Gary, Donita and Jr . Flo married Hubert L. Jeanes in 1971 and together they blended their family and she gained two more daughters Brenda and Glenda. After the loss of Hubert after 43 years or marriage, in October 2013, Flo had recently moved to McKinney to live with her daughter, Donita. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Flo was an interior designer for 40 years and was known county wide as a business woman, salesperson, and her hand-made custom draperies. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Idabel. Flo enjoyed traveling the U.S. with Hubert, gardening, gaming, and working crossword puzzles. She was an avid reader, particularly the McCurtain Gazette. But her greatest passion was spending time with her children, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Laura Bell Holman; brothers, Jerial Holman, Melvin L. Holman, James Holman, Raymond Holman; sisters, Elizabeth "Snooks" Holman Jordan, Edna Earl Holman Boulton, Lorene Holman Schultz, Madge Nell "Bitsy" Holman McAlexander; husband, Hubert Jeanes; and eldest son, Jimmy Dan Jacobs. Flo is survived by son, Gary Jacobs and wife Debbie of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Donita Jacobs of McKinney, Texas; and son, Colonel Junior Jacobs of Idabel, Oklahoma; stepdaughter, Brenda Jeanes Iglehart and husband James of Idabel, Oklahoma; stepdaughter, Glenda Diane Jeanes Quam and husband Jim of Lake Nebagamon, Wisconsin; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Friday, January 17, 2014. Services will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at White Family Funeral Home with burial in Denison Cemetery.
