Obituary of Frances DeBerry

Frances LaNelle Floyd DeBerry, age 93, of Idabel, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014. She was born September 21, 1920 at Clarksville, TX, the daughter of Wallace W. and Mildred Varley Floyd. Frances worked as a deputy clerk at the McCurtain County Tax Assessors office for many years and also as a Personnel Director at Kellwood for a short period of time. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed fishing and camping trips with her friends. Frances was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star and had made her home in Idabel for most of her life. Frances was a loving mother and grandmother and was affectionately called Mama De by those who loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dan DeBerry; and a son, David DeBerry. Frances is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Linda DeBerry of Idabel; daughter-in-law, Janiece Hinkle of Waco, TX; grandchildren, Doug and Lisa DeBerry of East Bernard, TX, Brenda DeBerry of Oklahoma, TX, Michele and Bill Scott of Duncan, OK, David DeBerry of Idabel, and Marvin and Jan Skinner of Bay City, TX; nine great-grandchildren; niece, Vicki Maxey of Texarkana, TX; nephew, Jim and Kathy Campbell of Harris, OK; other relatives and a host of friends. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church of Idabel with Rev. David Mercer officiating. Interment will follow at the Denison Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the building fund at the First United Methodist Church, 302 S.E. Jefferson, Idabel, OK 74745.
