Obituary of Naomi Lowrance

Naomi Lowrance, age 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on New Year's Day 2014 at her home in Idabel, OK. She was born on August 24, 1918 in the Union Grove Community, OK, the daughter of Harvey and Mabel Berkman Jetton. Naomi was raised in the Union Grove Community, attended school at Pleasant Hill and raised her family in the Harris Community. Naomi was an accomplished homemaker and enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. She worked several years at McCurtain Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide and thoroughly enjoyed helping people. Naomi was a hard worker and always found something to do to keep her busy. A devout Christian, Naomi was an avid reader and studier of her Bible and a faithful attendee of Grace Assembly Church in Idabel, OK. Outside of her Faith her passion was taking care of her husband and her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Johnie Lowrance in 2003; a son-in-law, Orville Hay; granddaughter, Diana Saltsman; 3 sisters and 6 brothers Naomi leaves to cherish her memory her sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Peggy Lowrance and Bruce and Helen Lowrance all of Idabel, OK; daughters and son-in-law, Dorothy Hay of Rialto, CA and Jettie and Kenneth McMennamy of Quinton, OK; sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Tommy Bost of Kennewick, WA; special friend and caregiver, Sissy Cunningham of Idabel, OK; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2014 at Grace Assembly Church in Idabel, OK with Rev. Elwayne Schaeffer and Rev. Gabe Elliott officiating. Interment will follow at Canfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the funeral home.
