Obituary of Gwen Storey

Gwen Storey, age 66 passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at her home in the Pleasant Hill Community. She was born on November 22, 1947 at Sweet Home OR, the daughter of Luke and Dee Storey. She was a 1966 graduate of Haworth High School. Gwen later graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She resided in Durant for several years before moving to Colorado where she spent about 20 years. In Colorado she was an office manager for an accounting firm before retiring. Gwen moved back to McCurtain County in 2011. Gwen enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends. She loved animals and did volunteer work at an animal shelter while living in Colorado. Gwen was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Luke Storey; and her faithful dog, Moca. Gwen is survived by her mother, Dee Storey of the Pleasant Hill Community, OK; brothers and sisters-in-law, Keith and Mary Storey of Durant, OK, Scott and Sandra Storey of the Pleasant Hill Community, OK and Rick and Anna Storey of Katy, TX; nieces, Stephanie Storey, Melissa Warmath and Amanda Tonubbee; nephews, Stephen Storey and Sky Storey; many other relatives and a host of friends. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Trujillo officiating.
