Obituary of Coy Daniels

Coy Cortez Daniels, 86, of Valliant, went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 13, 2013 in Keene, TX. He was born on April 22, 1927, the son of R.C. and Lizzie Daniels. Coy went to Valliant schools and served in the Navy from 1944 to 1947 during World War II. Coy married Edna Delores Stafford August 27, 1946 at DeQueen, AR. He moved his family to central California in 1948 where he worked as a truck driver. Coy also enjoyed working on a ranch in 1950. The Daniels moved back to Oklahoma in 1971, where Coy continued working as a truck driver. He retired in 1987. Coy always had an interest in cars, gardening and loved spending time with his family Coy is survived by his wife, Edna Daniels of Valliant, OK; sons, Coy L. Daniels, and wife, Jeannette of Monterey, CA and Robert Daniels and wife, Donna of Hot Springs, AR; daughter, Patricia Bastible, and husband, Dean Bastible of Burleson, TX; siblings, Betty Sue DeBelle and Dan Daniels; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Ozelle Farris, Roma Farris, Pauline Evans and R.L. Daniels. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at the Valliant Assembly of God Church in Valliant, OK with Rev. Scott Stuart officiating. Interment will follow at the Valliant Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2013 at the funeral home.
